Kids Greening Taupō is based on a collaborative community education model, meaning kindergartens, schools and community partners work together towards achieving a shared environmental goal. Through this journey, students lead restoration projects in the community which then offer many learning experiences outside of the classroom. At present, our schools are working on individual restoration projects within/close to their school grounds projects, as well as collectively working with Taupō District Council to restore Spa Park.
At present Kids Greening Taupo participating schools and kindergartens are Tauhara College, Taupo Primary, Waipahihi Primary, Four Seasons Kindergarten and Hinemoa Kindergarten.
The supporting community partners are Greening Taupō , Taupō District Council, Department of Conservation and the Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board.
