Fossil hunting can be a fun family activity. It’s a great way to connect with nature, explore and learn all at the same time. We had lots of fun fossil hunting at Kiritehere Beach, near Kawhia.

It was like magic, finding rocks and splitting them open to discover fossils of shells that had been hidden within the rock for 200 million years! See our photos below. Watch this video to learn more about this amazing spot.
