Native Plant BINGO
This native plant BINGO has been designed to play in large groups. There are 18 different BINGO sheets that you can print off to use! You can have a group of 2-3 students using each sheet. Instructions for a basic BINGO game to be played in the classroom/home are below.
There are also information cards to teach some fun facts while playing.
You could use this resource to play BINGO in the forest on a bush walk. If played that way, you would need the winner to shout “BINGO!” for a row, or a certain number of boxes, as not all of the native plants are likely to be found in one forest. Our native plants grow in different areas of the country and in different conditions. It would be fun to see how many of them you could find on a bush walk though!
The first two picture pages contain all of the plants in the set, so can be used for the draw cards, displays, matching games etc.

Set up Instructions for Basic BINGO Game
Make the BINGO draw cards:
Print pages 1-2 on A3 paper/card and cut out the individual pictures (the first two pages contain all of the different plant pictures).
Print the information sheets on A3 paper/card and cut out the individual fact boxes.
Glue the fun facts on the back of the corresponding picture card. Either use cardboard, or laminate these so that they are sturdy
Make the Playing Boards:
Print and laminate the 18 pages of photos. This gives you 18 different game boards to use.
You will need counters, or small pebbles, for players to cover the plant pictures that have been called out.
How to play:
Put the draw cards into a bag or box and mix them up.
Either have someone be the ‘caller’ and draw the cards out one at a time, or the players could have turns drawing out the cards.
Give each player (or each group, if playing in groups) a playing board with pictures of native plants on it.
When a card is drawn out, read the fun facts on the back, then show the picture of the plant on the front to the players.
Any players who have the matching plant on their board cover it up with a counter/pebble.
The first player (or group if playing in groups) to cover every plant on their board calls our “BINGO!” They are the winners!
