Contact Energy TKKM o Whakarewa Planting

Katelyn from Contact Energy and our coordinator, Rachel

Restoring geothermal ecosystems! We loved being able to support Contact Energy with this planting along a beautiful geothermal stream. Weeds had been cleared and were being replaced by a native ngahere (forest) to protect the rare geothermal plants that grow in the area. Students from TKKM o Whakarewa worked hard to plant the native trees, collect pots, and mulch the site.

We were sad to say goodbye to the amazing Katelyn who has been an awesome supporter of our programme during her time with Contact Energy. We wish her well on her big adventures and will hopefully see her back here one day in the future.
