Planting with Waipahihi School

The students at Waipahihi School are being master planters this year. They joined Brenna from Taupō District Council to add another 300 plants to Hawai Reserve to the ones they planted there last year. This space is special for the school as it is where they hold bush school. One day the hope is to have the whole reserved surrounded by native bush instead of weeds. The students already see many tui and pīwakawaka and hope to one day see even larger variety of native birds.
