You Don’t Usually Take a Boat to a Planting… But We Did!

On Saturday 10th of May, our Kids Greening Taupō team had an unforgettable time supporting Project Tongariro at their planting day in Tauranga Taupō — and it’s one we won’t forget in a hurry!

The day before, torrential rain had the river bursting its banks, making for some very dramatic conditions. But as luck (and good timing) would have it, the sun came out just in time, and the planting site itself was ready to go.

It’s not every day you need a boat to reach a planting site — but that’s exactly what made this event so memorable! Getting there became part of the adventure, and it only added to the sense of community spirit that community planting events create.

A big thank you to Project Tongariro for organising the planting and for sharing some of the fantastic photos below of the day.
