Composting is such an awesome thing to do for so many reasons. You can cut down on your organic waste going to landfill, which cuts down on methane emissions. A huge percentage of our household waste is food waste and paper, which can all be composted. It might surprise you to hear that in many modern landfills these things don’t decompose, as they are capped and have no air circulating, thus no bugs or microorganisms to help break them down. They will be in landfill forever! Watch Savvy’s very cool video to learn more about this:

Also, your compost will give back to you! It will provide you with lots of nutrients to put into your veggie garden, thus completing the cycle of zero waste in nature. How cool is that!
