Geothermal Week at Craters of the Moon 2026

We loved supporting Craters of the Moon with their Family Fun Days in Geothermal Week. They had printed off our Geothermal Ecosystem Scavenger Hunt for visitors to use. We were able to talk to people about the fantastic plants, animals, mosses, fungi and lichens that they might spot on their walk around Craters of the Moon. We also had a new matching game for tracking tunnel prints. It was great to see how excited people were about discovering the taonga species that live in this amazing geothermal habitat that is on our doorstep. Thanks so much Contact Energy for our new thermometer to use on our tours.
